Tetiana Mykhalchuk is als promovenda verbonden aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam en het Duitsland Instituut Amsterdam. Haar onderzoeksthema is 'Re-thinking Europe: Cultural and Scientific Exchange by the Unintentional Mediator'. Zij was van 2014 tot 2015 gastpromovenda aan de Universiteit van Duisburg-Essen. Van 2005 tot 2014 was zij lid van de onderzoeksgroep 'Textual Culture' aan de Universiteit Utrecht. Mykhalchuk studeerde onder meer Filologie aan de National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
