Het internet wordt steeds vaker onderdeel van geopolitieke conflicten. Politiek is echter altijd al onderdeel geweest van communicatie-infrastructuren. Je zou zelfs kunnen stellen dat de infrastructuur van het internet al decennialang een terrein is waar de wereldmacht opnieuw wordt geconfigureerd. In de vierde editie van de reeks The New Geopolitics of Technology laten Elinor Carmi, Fenwick McKelvey en Seda Guerses hun licht schijnen op dit actueel vraagstuk. Moderatie: Niels ten Oever.
Global internet infrastructure is increasingly becoming part of geopolitical conflicts. However, politics have always been an inherent part of communication infrastructures. One could even argue that the internet infrastructure has been a field of reconfiguration of global power for decades, we just failed to see it.
