Moderatie: Clara Weinhardt (Maastricht University).
De voertaal van deze bijeenkomst is Engels.
As global power shifts and Western dominance is increasingly challenged, what will the world order of the future look like and what role will Europe play in it?
Join us at Lumière Cinema for a conversation with German political scientist Daniel Marwecki, author of “The World After the West”. Drawing on his work on the changing global order, we will explore the historical legacy of Western power, the re-emergence of Asia, and Europe's uncertain position in a world no longer centred on the West. What possibilities and challenges lie ahead for Europe as it seeks to define its place in this changing geopolitical landscape?
The discussion and audience Q&A will be followed by a screening of “Ascension” (2021), Jessica Kingdon's documentary offering a striking portrait of contemporary China through its factories, workplaces, consumer culture, and aspirations for prosperity.
Tickets will be available shortly.
